The Lima Public Library is proud to present our Oculus Quest 2 Virtual Reality Headsets. The Lima/ Allen County community can experience virtual reality for free at the library during one of our events. We have many virtual reality games to choose from including:
- Bogo (Everyone):Virtual Reality Pet Simulator
- Epic Roller Coaster (Everyone): In Epic Roller Coasters you'll get the same feeling of real roller coasters in places and situations that probably you will never have in the real life! There are so many possibilities: magic, world of dinosaurs, haunted houses and so many others!
- Traveling While Black (Teen+): Traveling While Black is a cinematic VR experience that immerses the viewer in the long history of restriction of movement for black Americans and the creation of safe spaces in our communities. Academy Award winner Roger Ross Williams and Emmy Award-winning Felix & Paul Studios' film transports you to historic Ben's Chili Bowl in Washington DC. The viewer shares an intimate series of moments with several of the patrons of Ben's as they reflect on their experiences of restricted movement and race relations in the U.S.
- Anne Frank House VR (Everyone): Experience the world-famous “Secret Annex” of the Anne Frank House in a never before seen way. Travel back to the years of the Second World War and wander through the rooms of the Secret Annex, where Anne Frank, her family and four other Jews hid from Nazi persecution during WW2. - Space Explorers (Everyone): The largest production ever filmed in space, Space Explorers: The ISS Experience is an epic four-part immersive series that invites you to join astronauts on life-changing missions aboard the International Space Station.
- Within (Teen+): The Within app is the premier destination for cinematic virtual reality. Within immerses you inside of award-winning stories and documentaries that will transport you to places never before possible.
- Ocean Rift (Teen+): Ocean Rift is the world's first VR aquatic safari park. Explore a vivid underwater world full of life including dolphins, sharks, turtles, orcas, sea snakes, rays, whales, manatees, sea lions and even dinosaurs! Ocean Rift is divided into 12 unique habitats ranging from coral reefs, ship wrecks and lagoons, to the arctic, the deep and prehistoric seas. New: Discover and touch 45+ information points throughout Ocean Rift to learn more about the animals.
- Wander (Everyone): Wander the world openly through the magic of VR. - National Geographic Explore VR (Everyone): Set off as a National Geographic explorer to discover two of the most iconic locations on the planet! - Beat Saber (Everyone): Beat Saber is a unique VR rhythm game where your goal is to slash the beats (represented by small cubes) as they are coming at you. Every beat indicates which saber you need to use and also the direction you need to match. All the music is composed to perfectly fit the handmade levels.
- Bait! (Everyone): You’re invited to Bait! Island to help your boss catch a rare fish, and thereby save the struggling aquarium where you work. During the game, you will catch a lot of different fish and make friends with the locals. But, will you be able to keep your loyalties both to your new friends and to your boss? Gameplay spans four different lakes, each with a distinct style and its own unique set of fishes. Can you catch them all?
- Mission IIS (Everyone): Take a trip into orbit and experience life on board the International Space Station! In this Emmy-nominated simulation, learn how to move and work in zero-gravity using your controllers. - Applab VirtualSpeech (Everyone): VirtualSpeech is a VR soft skills training app that’s offered alongside online courses to accelerate learning of key communication skills like public speaking, sales, job interviews, and leadership. - Jurassic World (Everyone): Jurassic World: Apatosaurus The Jurassic World: Apatosaurus VR Experience allows the viewer for the first time to see what it feels like to be in the presence and close proximity of a living dinosaur and to experience a sense of connection with it - with the mixture of awe, striking beauty and danger that this implies. - Innerworld (Lima Only) (Teen): Start your mental health journey. Innerworld is a virtual world where people teach each other the tools of Cognitive Behavioral Immersion™. It's a place where the struggles of life can be left behind. Where a welcoming community will help you get where you want to go, and where you'll learn tools to help you take charge of your life's story.
- Maloka (Lima Only) (Everyone): Welcome to Maloka, the ever expanding wellness universe! Maloka inspires you to build consistency in your mindfulness practice through guided meditations, mindful movement and sound baths.
- Puzzling Places (Lima Only) (Everyone): Puzzling Places is a relaxing and wholesome 3D jigsaw puzzle where players put together hyper-realistic miniatures of beautiful places from around the globe.
